The Story Behind the Song
“The Power of Prayer,” written by Stuart Murray, is a heartfelt reflection on the strength we can find through faith, especially during life’s most difficult moments.
Through his words, Stuart explores how prayer can bring comfort when answers seem far away, hope when the path feels uncertain, and the courage to keep moving forward. The song reminds us that prayer is not only about asking for help, but also about finding peace, gratitude, and a deeper connection to something greater than ourselves.
At its heart, The Power of Prayer is a song about believing that even in our darkest moments, we are never truly alone.

Song Lyrics
The Power of Prayer
The power of prayer is a force unseen
Giving peace to the heart, quiet, serene
Incredible strength, incredible might
The power of prayer is what I need tonight.
The power of prayer is in His hand
Jesus almighty before me stands
With grace and mercy holding tight
The power of prayer is what I need tonight.
The power of prayer is here
The power of prayer is there
The power I need is everywhere
Everywhere, everywhere
The power of prayer is here
The power of prayer is there
The power I need is everywhere
Everywhere, everywhere
The power of prayer so strong
I search for it in this song
Tempted to escape in flight
The power of prayer is what I need tonight.
I am in a battle, I am facing defeat
I am scared, sitting alone on this seat
Its power I yearn for in the midst of this fight
The power of prayer is what I need tonight.
I am loved, I am blessed
I am feeling my best
Feeling stronger, fit to fight
The power of prayer is what I have tonight.
The power of prayer is here
The power of prayer is there
The power I feel is everywhere
Everywhere, everywhere
The power of prayer is here
The power of prayer is there
The power I feel is everywhere
Everywhere, everywhere
